# The 2 Times Table

The easiest times table — it's just doubling!

## 💡  The Golden Rule: Just Double It!

Multiplying by 2 is exactly the same as doubling. If you can add a number to itself, you can do the entire 2 times table.

2 × 5 = ? Think: 5 + 5 = 10 ✓ 

2 × 8 = ? Think: 8 + 8 = 16 ✓ 

2 × 12 = ? Think: 12 + 12 = 24 ✓ 

## ⭐  Even Number Magic

Every answer in the 2 times table is an even number. If you get an odd number, you know you've made a mistake!

All answers end in: 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8

## 🌍  Real-World Examples

🧦 Pairs of Socks

6 pairs of socks = 2 × 6 = 12 individual socks!

7 people at the table = 2 × 7 = 14 eyes!
